Guide To Money Making/Saving!
Problem Numeral 1: Not Being Able to Understand the Economy (Guide #1 : Playing with Money … Too much)
This is basic, it is completely nothing but basic in the world of MMORPG’s. Mostly no one takes the time to actually sit there in Channel 1 in the middle of Tir Chonaill to actually study the game’s economy. People, it is official and we all know this (For those who knows how to play hardcore with negotiation) : The economy is ALWAYS stupid. There will actually be people who sells things lower than what they’re intended to be, or… there will actually be people who will try to play head games with you and sell something higher than what you could buy for. Maybe not that, maybe they’ll sell something equal to what it’s worth, but the durability is 1/1 because you were too stupid to check. Yes, we’ve all been there haven’t we? Where we bought something that was 5x expensive than the original price and got cheated because of its crappy quality? Don’t hide it, we’ve been there.
“Okay, so Raiga, what is your strategy to handle the economy in your hands?”
Well young grasshopper, let me explain it as clear as possible just for your ears. Recon, negotiate, trade.
Recon : If you’re going to buy something, check the prices around you. ALWAYS CHECK THE PRICES AROUND YOU. I guarentee you someone in this world will sell something a lot cheaper than what you’re going to pay for. Here’s an example : I saved up 170k for an Arish Ashuvain armor. At NPC in Bangor… it is about 166 - 168k maybe. I could’ve ran my butt all the way over there and spent 95% percent of my savings for that armor, however, luckily I found someone selling an Arish Ashuvain in a vendor (Fresh off the market 15/15 still, no damages, proficiency is high and everything) for 130k. That saved me 40k, thank goodness for that. Try it, it’ll save you the cash for food, and repairing equipment.
Negotiate : If you’re doing a trade session, try to lower the price by at least 5 - 10%. If you’re going to buy a fresh Claymore that someone is selling for 25k, try to reduce that price by maybe… 3 - 5k. Negotiation is always the key to business. There will never be a direct price unless you’re stupid with your money.
Trade : This relates to “Negotiate”, if you’re trading, always keep your eyes open for reduced offers. Pay attention to the item quality, make sure the guy (or girl… if she’s charming y’know what I mean boys?) isn’t ripping you off for a 5/5 Durability Claymore.
Problem Numeral 2: Knowing What You Can Do Besides Part-Time (Guide #2 : The Way To Earn and Succeed)
Okay, maybe you’re having some problems with the economy and you need to earn your income back besides using that lame and slow Part-Time Job method. However, you’re kinda stumped. You’re lost in the world of Mabinogi, you feel like crying because you’re poor, you want to be held by Nao (Just as I do every time I hit the REBIRTH button) when you rebirth on the next three Saturdays. No worries. This guide is to help you through that problem.
Dungeons (Ciar Basic / PQ) :
Yes, do these Ciar Basic Dungeons + PQ’s. NEVER do a Ciar Basic without a PQ… you’re wasting time and possibly money. I can actually say that I earn money much more faster on Ciar Beginner by myself than doing a Ciar Basic (No PQ’s) run with a party of whatever number of players. However, if you’re the one with the Ciar Basic, please… do take the time to run back and get PQ’s. Don’t sit there and host it without any. People want money, people need it, so do you.
If you’re in need to get a Ciar Basic Pass, NEVER BUY IT FROM PEOPLE. A money wasted from your wallet, because you’ll never know the outcome of you and your party. You might just be wasting that pass for nothing. Always obtain it by joining other Ciar Basic parties of some sort, never buy it from the people that are predators for your money.
Make sure your Party Leader, or you, is awake for the quests. There will be some party leaders that are just so forgetful about the PQ’s that they’ll be killing Laghodessa’s when they have the quest open for Rat Men. If you have to, remind the leaders with all of your voice to change the stupid PQ to the following objective at hand. Remember, it’s your money so it’s your responsibility ; )
Ciar Beginner (If No PQ’s Are Up)
Run these dungeons, pick up Mimic/Poison/Goblin fomors, Items, anything that drops, even the smallest portion of gold. Try to benefit your wallet with them. Never waste it.
Fomor Scrolls :
Save these little guys in your storage, they’re worth money. Never sell them, never throw em away. Because at one point of your life, you will finish it and you will earn the money for it and you will be happy about it.
If you see a Fomor Scroll drop on the ground, grab it (If you can). Do not make hesitations to pick it up even if it’s worthless like a White Spider’s fomor… pick it up. You need money so you better pick it up if you want AT LEAST something in your pockets.
Trading Items :
Alright, like I said, “The Economy is STUPID”. It’s time to use that advantage. Sell items that you won’t be needing, like a Mana Herb or a Cooking Pot or maybe some useless equipment items. Sell them hardcore! For example, I sell Mana Herbs about 250 - 400 each. Normally, people would be buying for 200 only. Good for them, but I want money. Instead of playing cheap and try to reduce the price by 5 - 10%, try increasing it if you’re selling. I guarentee you, you will make profit.

Part 2
—
Okay, I’ve returned from doing a bunch of Ciar Basic runs + PQ’s and earned myself about 35k today and I have to admit, I am pretty **** happy. So anyways, thanks for the replies on my guide and so on and so forth, this post alone will be the update on the guide since I don’t have the stupid Edit button. Before we get to that though, I would like to reply to you guys that replied to my guide.
Vaizard :
Very few people are fortunate to even get a Huge Lucky Finish in the world of soloing Ciar. Believe it or not, if you ever bragged to everyone about your lucky finish I guarantee you that they would be disappointed. I would mention that in the guide but then people would get so worked up about getting a Huge Lucky Finish that they lose concentration and get pwned by Rat Men.
DrgReborn / Evokholic :
The number of people in your party really doesn’t effect how much you earn in due time unless you’re going in with 8 people. Then that would be a problem in your income wouldn’t it? Also, to be honest, sometimes I think being in a party of 6 earns me cash faster than being in a party of 3 - 4. However, that varies on how well you work with your party and how fast you can run through the dungeon with that party. I mean, I’ve actually been in a party of 3 where I was the one wasting the feathers… and it took us around an hour in a half to reach the 3rd floor. Seriously, I felt like I was doing Ciar Intermediate. It didn’t turn out pretty either when we reached the Golem.
Mirioki :
Thanks for your opinion on my guide. Also, this update will discuss on how to save money on equipment since I do now how to save money just for that situation xD. That church thing too is pretty nice by the way. I think I’ll quote that in here to give you credit. =/

**Update** : Knowing What You Can Do Besides Part-Time
(Guide #2 : The Way To Earn and Succeed)
Mirioki says :
Not all part time jobs give you junk cash… what I mean is the holy water business. Once you do enough part time church jobs to get 6 holy water per run… that’s about 6×700=4.2k gold per church job. I guess in the beginning you can do some easy Comgan quests which gives you 4 holy water for killing 4 goblins. 4×700=2.8k. Never do Tir’s church job… too much effort and space… once you get to 6 holy water per job… comgan isn’t worth it anymore (kill one imp) and Kristel is the way to go! (apples, potatoes, eggs… all relatively simple and requires little effort/space) If you’re willing to part with some of your precious holy water, you can get some extra cash if you happen to be in dunbarton at the right time.

Okay, so where did I leave off? Oh yes, the part where I was discussing about making money… let’s continue.
Problem Numeral 3: I Lose More Money Than What I Earn!!! (Guide #3 : Saving Your Money)
Broke? Using up your money on repairing and food too much? Is your income too low? Maybe your big, complexed problem is saving up money, and I am here to help you with that typical problem that you’re having.
This explanation is going to be short… or maybe long, I really don’t know actually. Then again, let’s see the few problems why people can’t save up money :
Peer Pressure/Geed
Impatience/Laziness
Peer Pressure / Greed:
Yes, peer pressure. It’s like being asked to smoke weed. Will you want it or not? People buy items right off the bat just because their minds tell them “Buy it now and get it over with.” So, let’s say there’s a really attractive sword on the market. Pure golden dyed fluted sword, really attractive, 100k for the stupid sword that does the same amount of damage as a regular fluted sword. Your eyes sparkle sparkle sparkle… you want it, you have 105k in your pockets… oh you want that baby bad because it WILL make you LOOK good. You want the girls/boys to check you out with your pimped golden fluted sword don’t you? Okay, so you buy it. You’re really proud of your very attractive sword. You walk around the market area in Tir Chonaill showing off your mighty golden dyed sword. You pass a few beautiful/cute girls/boys who are probably much more poor than you and are standing… really close to another person next to them… having a sweet couple to couple conversation. Ignored, so you press on around the market in Tir Chonaill. Then it hits you in a heart beat. Someone is selling ANOTHER fluted sword with high proficiency, full upgrades and enchants for the price of let’s say 60k. You run over to the shop, all heaped up, you’re very excited about this sword because it can help you in your future dungeon runs. You open up the vendor window, you look at your gold and… uh oh… You only have 5k… You totally forgot that you’ve spent 100k for a mere golden dyed sword… Oh no. You slowly close the vendor window, log off, sit on your bed… and cry, slowly.
The point of this is… looks isn’t everything if you want to survive in Mabinogi. Please, save your money and try very hard not to buy useless stuff unless you have backup money for both repairing and food. Save yourself that extra money that you can be spending on repairing… please?
Impatience/Laziness :
This has been a problem for many people, actually, it is the number 1 problem why people can’t save money. Impatience is NOT a virtue. Players of Mabinogi are greedy and want things now, not later. For example, let’s take those Convenience Store’s outside of Ciar Dungeon in Channel 1 / Mari Server. They sell a stack of 10 feathers for 1300 - 1700 gold a pop. NPC’s sell it for 1000 a pop per a stack of 10 feathers. I can bet you that they make a lot of money because they sell maybe… 30 stacks of feathers to people who can’t accept the fact that they need to walk half a mile to town to buy feathers and back. NEVER… let impatience overtake you, wait it out. If you really need a feather, ask a nearby friend for one. Ignore the fact that shop is there and run all the way to Tir Chonaill and buy a stack of 10 feathers for 300 - 700 gold cheaper. It won’t kill you to run half a mile like you always do when you repair equipment.
Or maybe there’s someone selling an Arish Ashuvain for 200k in Tir Chonaill, fresh from the shop in Bangor. It’s that day of the week where Store Goods have decreased price for the day. You see this guy selling the Arish Ashuvain, you know it’s 30k expensive and you do know that you can buy a fresh new one CHEAPER for it’s original price of 160k or somewhere around that. However, you just don’t want to make the walk. The next Moon Gate is to Alby Dungeon and the current is Ciar Dungeon. Too much work for you. So you trade him… and pay him that really… stupid amount of 200k. You’re proud of yourself now, you got the armor that you really wanted your entire life. Then your friend comes along with HIS own Arish Ashuvain. You ask him “How much did you pay for that?”. He responds “160k
.” You feel ashamed… dishonored… shattered. He then asks you… and you lie “100k.” Don’t you feel special now?
Tsk tsk tsk, can’t get a grip can’t you? Do yourself a big favor and try not to be lazy and impatient.
How To Save Up Your Cash :
Prevent yourself from buying stuff that you DON’T want.
Do not waste ALL of your money on ONE item. Save some extra wads of cash for repair and food.
Do not give into peer pressure on overpriced items.
Do not be GREEDY with items on the market.
Do not let the attractive items fool you.
DO NOT BUY IRREPAIRABLE ITEMS - USELESS USELESS USELESS! (In my opinion)
Do not buy pots, farm them out instead in Ciar Beginner Dungeon. If you can solo that is.You’ll find plenty of HP/Stamina 30 Potions in there. (Mana Pots is an exception)
Do not buy a weapon that is ” 1 grade ” higher than your current. Buy the best that you can use right away instead of working up the branch. You’re just wasting money this way.
