Skeleton Fighting
SKELETON AI (BASIC WHITE)
Basic Skeletons are armed with a round shield and a wide stick. Even though these weapons are somewhat poor, skeletons themselves are made using the templates of a fully grown human (same figure, same running speed, same rules), with pretty good combat mastery ranks. This means they can pack some serious damage, and maybe kill you in 1 or 2 hits.
The trick behind this is to NOT GET HIT. Skeletons are very stupid, so you’ll be able to outsmart them using that human brain of yours.
Prerequisites (for MY guide, anyways) : Firebolt. Or the other two bolts (not recommended)
Lesson ONE : What NOT to do
First off, don’t use defense. Skeletons have too much attack power, and will probably deal over 50 damage even if you use defense. Unless you are fully armored, have high defense rank, and is practically a tanker, using defense is highly discouraged.
Newbie Archers, do not use your bow. Miss or not, you won’t have the power to kill a skeleton. Unless you are fully sure of what you’re doing, and have learned to utilize your bow efficiently, do not use archery.
Skeletons fight 1 on 1. Do NOT support your friends, because another skeleton WILL come and attack you. Do not hit other skeletons, because the one you are fighting at the moment will keep attacking you, and your new target will team up. Always let the enemy skeleton attack first, so you know which one to aim for. Do NOT worry about multiple skeletons teaming up. Only one will fight at a time, and another will fight you as soon as you kill one.
Do not panic. Skeletons are wussies. Fear and confusion is what suppresses our true inner power!
Lesson TWO : The actually important stuff
What skills does a skeleton have? Skeletons use Smash and Defense. Simple huh?
As soon as you see a skeleton charge up a bolt. Look around to see which one picks a fight with you, and launch your firebolt at it!
When a skeleton gets knocked back, they will do one of three things. Smash, Defend, or Stare. They will react on different actions taken by the user.
* Smash = They will full charge run at you. This is when you just use a regular attack. Remember, Regular attacks ALWAYS beats smash.
* Defense = They will stand still or walk slowly towards you. Firebolt!
* Stare = They will wait a bit, and resume attack. If you attempt to attack it directly, it’ll avoid you by walking in a 45 degree arc before it decides to attack you. Instead, if you see it staring at you, use firebolt to knock it back again!
Remember that these actions will be INSTANT when you knock them back. You’ll be able to tell what they are using right away. If its defense or stare, firebolt. If its smash, regular attacks.
I only have icebolt or lightningbolt
When a skeleton is using smash, just do what you would’ve normally done by attacking it. Remember that you can tell they’re using smash because they’re running with a skill on.
When it is using defense, take the opportunity charge up a shot, but don’t use it. Instead, make some distance between yourself and the skeleton, and attack when it takes its defense off. Use counter simultaneously. The skeleton WILL come right after you with a regular attack. Counter will save you here.
Same with staring. Just make some distance, shoot, counter. I only don’t like using this because it drains stamina.
I don’t have magic
Get it then. Its only 3 ap. There are plenty of other techniques but this is one of the few that guarantees survival. Of course, you’ll have to experiment and practice it first.
Red Skeletons
Same thing, but takes less damage from fire. If you’re using the firebolt method, this might take a bit longer. It takes more damage from icebolts.
If you put too much range between you and the skeleton, it will sometimes use a bow. You hit it with a bolt or run out of its range and THEN charge up a bolt. If you hit it while it aims for you, the skeleton will switch to a weapon and use a regular attack or smash.
Metal Skeletons
Same thing as Red, but has much much more hp, and has an additional skill: Windmill. Metal Skeletons will only use windmill when they are pushed or knocked back. Stay away from skeletons your friends are fighting, because it WILL windmill you. You can tell if it is using windmill by looking at the load time on the skill. It takes much less time than defense does. Same rules apply. Firebolt, or Ice/Lightning Counter.
Metal Skeletons take less damage from lightning, but a little more from ice and fire.
I screwed up and got hit
If you survived, then don’t go for an attack on the skeleton. They’ll still do the 45 degree arc run. Instead, charge up another bolt, or just put on counter.
Other Skeletons
Are crazy hard. They’re armored, so they can use defense PASSIVELY. They have more strength, defense, and hp. These guys are not suggested for you.
Perhaps I should expand on this and make it a guide. If you want to know about skeleton wolves, just fight them like regular wolves. Defense!
