Warning about being warriors

“Warriors are weak!” This quote is heard almost everywhere. Why? It’s mostly because others are thinking that warriors usually kill-steal form other job beginners. Then people start discarding their warrior accounts because at lvl 20+ , they are weaker to almost everyone. Why? They simply get ks-ed because they are the only class without ranged attacks. It looks like this is the end for warriors, but don’t give up! You saw how good warriors are at lvl 1-16. All you need is patience. Like archers, you will only excel at lvl 70+, because your 3rd job skills will shine.

Pros and cons:

Pros:

• 1. High damage when lvl 60+
• 2. Don’t need to waste money on attacking equips(arrows, stars)
• 3. 3rd job’s attack are nice
• 4. High Def
• 5. High HP
• 6. can mob (hit many monsters at once) during 1st job

Cons:

1. Often got kill-stealed when you are lvl 20-30, as it is the weakest class at that point of time.
2. No ranged attacks until 4th job (3rd job for Spearmen)
3. Generally are not welcomed into parties, due to being percieved as “useless” (Spearmen are an exception)
4. Low MP
5. Low Magic Defense

MapleStory will only let you do your job advancement at level 10. So, you must make the most out of the 1st 10 levels to meet the requirement and to make the best out of your character. You might think it easy. But you may use up to 40mins making a ‘good’start-up character!

Starting up stats

After you have logged in your account,select a world. Click on it. Then choose a server(you can move between servers,so don’t worry so much about your friends). Double click on it.Then click the board that says “create a character”. You will see a screen.

First set your names, cloths and ETC.

Then look at the right side of the screen. You will see the four stats.Warriors need STR(attack) and DEX(accrucy).

Keep on clicking regenerate until you get this stats.

Then, click ok. You are clear to start your journey! Start by double clicking your character.

Being a beginner

Just do all the quests. then when you level up,add your DEX until its your level (multiply) 2(for young players, it mean your level +your level again)

After that, add 3 STR and 2 DEX.

DO NOTs:

• add on INT and LUK
• have more DEX then STR

Beginner skills

As you will only receive SP until level 6,with only 1 SP per level, so max 2 skills instead of only 1 . Note: If you wonder why u only get 6 sp ( 1 per level) There a new skills coming out soon and u get 8 sp 1 per level and you wont get more because a mage makes his/hers 1st job at lvl 8 =).

Minimium requirements

This is the requirement for being a swordman.

• lvl 10
• STR must be at least 35

If you follow this guide, it will be fine.

NOTE:Don’t be anxious and leave maple island once you get to lvl 10. Wait till 50%(or 80% at your own risk). Complete Olaf’s quest(explained in becoming a swordman.)

Step 1(leaving maple island)

Once you reach level 10 (level 8 for aspiring magicians), you need to leave Maple Island. It is important you do not level up again until you choose your job.
Head to east South Perry and you see a ship and a NPC named Shanks.

Talk to Shanks. He will ask you if you are ready to leave and will tell you that you need 150 mesos to go to Victoria Island. Once you leave, you can never go back to Maple Island with this character. Say yes and cough up 150 mesos for him and you’ll find yourself in Victoria Island’s Lith Harbor.

Step 2(Going to Perion)

Stay put! Don’t walk to Perion! You will die! So, take the taxi(ticket booth in Lith Harbour case). Don’t worry about fares as there is 90% discount for beginners.Before that, walk to the right of the ship and find Olaf. click on him and choose “The path of being a warrior”. Then walk back left to the booth and you will see a man in it. Double click on him. Then click the option “take me somewhere else”(the top) and click Perion(DO NOT click on any other towns).

Step 3(1st job advancement)

Then, walk up to the top of Perion.Enter that portal in the big house and you will see Dances with Balrog. click on him and either complete the quest or be a warrior. Then do the other option you did not do.

Swordman Builds

Here are the builds for a Swordman.

Standard Build

The standard build for warriors.It works best when work for Page want-to-bes.

Alternate Standard Build

With this build, you will max Power Strike before points are applied to Slash Blast.It works best when work for Fighter want-to-bes.

Mob Build

With this build, you will max Slash Blast before points are applied to Power Strike.It works best when work for Spearman want-to-bes.

Iron Body Build

This build is a not recommended alternative to being a high DEF warrior. In the midst of it, you will lose out on a vital skill-Slash Blast.But if you still want to do this,listen up. Spearman want-to-bes should not max power strike, instead add on slash blast.

Low HP Build

This build will let you have a super-boost in attack when in the lower levels. As doing so,you will have less HP as you do not max the skill HP Increase. Every Warrior will get a large amount of health when they make the second job advancement. It’s OK to be on the low health side. If you have a lot of health in the lower levels, you’ll have a lot of HP at the 2nd advancement. This is only recommended for Spearman want-to-bes.

Choosing WHERE you train is going to affect how fast will you level up in Maplestory. So the best way is this:

What’s your score?

Add your question numbers together and thats your score.

If your score is:

• 5-7: You are a Spearman! Reckless but strong, they have the highest offensive score(in normal hitting). You will be putting your life as stake as you fight with low DEF, but your strategy is to mob them all using slash blast and other attacks. That does not mean they is the strongest class,as some skills form other classes overtake you by a lot.

• 9-11:You are a Page! Pages are like a combination of Spearmen and Fighters without party skills. Although a Page lacks in party and offensive skills, they slowly become stronger as you progress. A Page is like a Fighter without Rage.The skill, Threaten, is often under-estimated, but it saves you a lot of money if you use it right. You’ll be doing 10k+ damage with a maxed out charge and power strike by level 90+.And you’ll be on your way to being one of the richest classes in MapleStory.

• 13-15:You are a Fighter! A Fighter is good at 1 on 1 battles, however, due to the axe’s limited range, axe Fighters will not be all that good with his/her slash blast. Fighters also get the most HP out of all the warrior classes, however, the least MP.

• 12& 8:Oh no! You have equal likeness for each class! Reset your score and answer this question and use that score to figure out the best choice for you.
